In 2011 the Ningaloo Whaleshark Festival made it’s return to the Exmouth social calendar. In 2012 we will be expanding the festival with the gala opening cocktail party on Friday the 25th of May at Novotel Ningaloo, Fedration Park on Saturday morning with the addition of a float parade to get things started and a day jammed with events to follow. Saturday night sees the return of Dilip and the Davs with Tom Fisher and the Layabouts at Grace's Tavern. Finishing off on Sunday with Whale Shark tours and a family afternoon on town beach.

The Whale Shark (Rhincodon typus) is the world's largest living fish, growing up to 18m in length. These placid plankton feeders have a distinct pattern of white spots and stripes that is unique to each individual. Whale Sharks have a possible life span of more than 100 years as they cruise the oceans of the world.

About Our Festival
The Ningaloo Whaleshark Festival highlights the community’s relationship with the yearly visitation of the Whale Shark.
The festival’s objective is to bring together government departments, business,industries and community members to strengthen their relationships whilst enhancing the education and celebration of the Whale Shark and its annual visit to Ningaloo.
The Whaleshark Festival is for all ages and is possibly the only event in honour of that unique, spectacular creature, the Whale Shark which is recognised both nationally and internationally.

Whale Shark Festival 2012
Preparations are well under way for the the annual Ningaloo Whale Shark Festival in Exmouth, which will be held from May, 25–27, 2012. There will be fun for all ages.
